Introducing......the Lunch Pail Kids
BY MARTY CESARIO What's with the old-school nomenclature, right? Yep. I am aware a great percentage of those who bother clicking on these blog pages are high school students. You may be one of them. And you may be like, "What's a lunch pail? We have an open-campus and I drive over to Qdoba to chill between classes." Just roll with me on this one, please. I'm trying to do a good thing here. I am officially publishing my ever-evolving list of work horses, spark plugs, and hustle players. These athletes typically aren't the blue-chippers who earn all the highlights and headlines. They are blue-collar contributors who help earn... well... victories. Know what I mean? Blood, sweat, tears, pride... and dirty work. These uniquely driven athletes give a lot. I would like to acknowledge their efforts. So... a greasy, stinky, beat-up, limited-edition CET Lunch Pail for: Patrick Hilaire - Sr- Denver East Angels have stars, but when this guy subs in... they may be even quicker, more athletic, more entertaining. Good defender. Big hops. Dunk you very much. Arden Dennis - Sr - Eaglecrest A starter, but Wooten and Turner get all the notice. Meanwhile, Arden picks off point guards, runs a lightning-quick break, and hits clutch free throws. Danny Vigil - Jr - Pueblo County Comes in and creates chaos. Steals. Turnovers. Breaks to the other end. Drives ya bonkers. Cory Loupee - Sr - Dakota Ridge Big guy can pass. Sees baseline cutters and can hit 'em. Active defender against fancy forwards. Danny Rodriguez - Sr - Lincoln Perfect to help the baby Lancers grow. Nobody gets lazy with him on the floor. Very quick. Sees everything. A leader. More mature than I am. Liam Felton - Sr - Ralston Valley Nothing but the dirty work. Every game is a three scar night for this guy. Will dive into a pit of Slipknot freaks to get his team the basketball. Chase Hoing - Sr - Rampart Warning: Dribble at your own risk. Giggles at cross-overs. Can't get by or around him. Then rips you off like it's a crime. Vince Roybal - Jr - Gateway Spells Pleasant and/or Riley in the paint. Productive in very limited playing time. Blocks. Rebounds. Will take a knee to the gut to draw the charge. Will Cobb - Sr - Regis Play-by-play guys, Roth and Lopez, say this guy is a silent stud. Coach says they cannot lose him. All the little things including energy and perimeter D. . |
